Sales and development work hand in hand

KRAIBURG TPE reorganizes European project management

Waldkraiburg, December 09, 2009. Aiming to respond even more quickly and flexibly to the needs of its European customers, KRAIBURG TPE is currently reorganizing its European project management structures. In the future, sales and development staff will work together on customer projects from the very outset, pooling their knowledge to achieve the best possible results. Aligning the composition with each particular project, KRAIBURG TPE will assemble teams made up of the appropriate specialists drawn from both areas. With this new approach the TPE specialist, headquartered in the Bavarian town of Waldkraiburg, will be making technical know-how available to its clients first-hand. It also hopes to accelerate development processes and further optimize project management. Responsible for the European sales staff is Michael Pollmann while Gerhard Berger heads up the development team. With this new strategy the development team at KRAIBURG TPE will be even closer to the customer and the TPE specialist – true to its philosophy of “custom-engineered TPE and more” – will offer a further plus in terms of support. “In Europe, our home market, we strive to be a strong and innovative partner for our customers and thus to design project tasks for greater efficiency. With our new strategic thrust we are superbly prepared to offer our customers significantly reduced ‘time to market’ for their products,” says Michael Pollmann, member of the European Executive Board and responsible for European sales at KRAIBURG TPE.

Amassed know-how for individualized solutions
This new arrangement has already borne fruit. The Dr. Best toothbrush is made by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), one of the world’s leaders in innovative pharmaceuticals and healthcare products. Here product optimization could be realized within an amazingly short period of time. A closely defined change in the formulation increased the transparency of the thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). That facilitated dyeing the compound in any desired shade. Thus GSK profits from brilliant, lustrous product colors without any affect on the material’s mechanical values or performance. “The flexibility and speed with which the team of specialists at KRAIBURG TPE responded to our inquiry convinced us right down the line”, says Hans Krämer, Toothbrush and Packaging Development Manager at GSK. “Inside just a single week we were able to start working with the newly developed material and as a consequence quickly launched pilot production for our products. That saved us both time and money.” Combining knowledge on sales and development aspects within a unified project team shortens decision-making paths, speeds procedures and delivers first-hand expertise – attuned exactly to the customer’s needs in each and every case.
