HIPEX® – the material revolution

With HIPEX®, KRAIBURG TPE succeeded in developing a completely new class of material. The high-performance TPE sets new standards and offers huge advantages over conventional thermoplastic elastomers.
First of all, it is both high temperature and media resistant. The material can withstand exposure to temperatures of 170°C over several days. Continuous use is possible at temperatures around 150°C. The new compounds are also resistant to oils and grease.
These material properties cater for applications where until now only high-performance elastomers and copolyesters could be used. For this reason, HIPEX® is the ideal solutions for parts used in machines and under the car hood.
The key advantages of the high-performance TPE are its thermoplastic processability, which  does away with time-consuming vulcanisation, and its excellent adhesion to PA, POM and PBT. 2C processing can also eliminate the need for an additional assembly process.
Thermoplastics processors can now explore fields of applications that have up to now been the reserve of rubber processors. Elastomer processors on the other hand have the opportunity to reduce their production costs, thus becoming more competitive.
