PROOF OF RECYCLABILITY

 

On behalf of KRAIBURG TPE, the independent testing and certification body Institute cyclos-HTP has successfully investigated and confirmed the compatibility of selected TPS materials in the recycling stream for high density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP).

Previously, it was assumed that TPS was not recyclable in the waste stream. This assumption could be disproved for selected products from KRAIBURG TPE and therefore no longer applies to compounds from the competence leader. According to the latest findings, compatibility in the PP and HDPE stream with products from KRAIBURG TPE has been proven and confirmed. This unique selling point is continuously being extended to the product range.

In this whitepaper, interested parties learn everything about the suitability of materials for food contact applications and the required migration testing in terms of Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011.

 

  • However, testing with the intended food simulants is not feasible in every case, or in some cases the testing leads to the destruction of the material or overestimates the actual migration.
